Oranges and lemons #5
I chose to make orange and lemon bread because I had been given a ton of oranges and our backyard tree is overflowing with lemons right now.This was a new one to me and I was excited to see how it would turn out and taste. The flour mix is 80% white 20% rye flour and it has about 60g of caster sugar and uses the zest of 6 oranges and 5 lemons! The dough has 2 rises and did not puff up a lot.It could be that today was really chilly and even with the house heater turned on my house has cold spots.
Before going in the oven I had to slash it in several places with a knife. It came out like this.
The texture is very soft inside and is tge perfect blend of tart and sweet. We loved it.
